We’ve looked at crazy vintage knitting patterns before, but did you ever wonder what happens to all those lovingly hand knit items when the recipients realize that a yellow corn vest just isn’t practical anymore? Well, here’s a little feature devoted to the knits of our past; gone but not forgotten at the local thrift shop.
Our first feature is this attention getting yellow and brown vest with a clever intarsia corn pattern -the perfect accessory for all your fall festivities. Knit in 100% acrylic with a simple tie front and garter stitch border, I’d estimate it’s vintage as mid 70s.

So, the next time you’re planning to channel your inner Corky St. Clair, head on down to your local thrift shop; and remember – nothing says “Everybody dace”, like a homemade vest.
Many thanks to my dear husband for modeling this knitting treasure.
